RULES

INDIE FED

New Alberta Pro Wrestling is a fantasy e-wrestling federation. Fictionally, NAPW is an independent wrestling promotion based out of Edmonton, Alberta which has a late-night one-hour TV program on Canada’s Fight Network. NAPW runs out of halls and armories to an average of 600 fans each show. NAPW’s sister promotion is REBEL Pro Wrestling, based out of North Carolina.

HOW TO PLAY

Create your original wrestler character and submit the application on the join page.

Wrestlers compete to win their scheduled matches by doing roleplays on the forum. Roleplays take the form of wrestling promos, interviews, sketches, whatever. The booker reads the roleplays and determines who was the “better” roleplayer in that match. Wrestlers may also be involved submitting ideas for angles, run-ins or on-show bits.

The booker and fed members write the “show” as if it were a real wrestling show, with commentary and full matches, based on the roleplays. Angles and storylines play out on the shows.

The next card is booked and roleplaying begins again for the new matches.

SHOWS

NAPW on The Fight Network “airs” every Tuesday night. Cards are posted one week in advance of airdate or earlier. It is your responsibility to know when you are booked. Non-wrestling members may be asked to contribute an on-show promo or segment.

Roleplay period begins: Tuesday prior to show (when the RP threads are posted)
Roleplay period ends: 10 pm MST/Midnight EST Sunday prior to show

Results are usually posted 12:01 a.m. Tuesday mornings.

GENERAL RULES

You Get What You Put In
Understand that if you typically only post one RP, you will not see much success in NAPW. Work ethic and If you want the best kind of results, volunteer to match write.

Everything Is Fair Game
There is no such thing as ‘off camera’ roleplay material. Everything in an RP is Fair Game to be mentioned, insulted, mocked, et cetera.

Always Stay In Character
In NAPW’s reality, WRESTLING IS REAL. No doing “shoot” interviews or talking about the “worked” nature of the business.

Post RPs on the Board in the Match Thread
Roleplays are done in the appropriate match thread. You may not link to an RP posted elsewhere.

RP Limit
The RP limit will be posted in each match thread. It is usually 2 RPs per wrestler/team in a regular match; 3 RPs per wrestler/team in a Championship match.

Last Chance Deadline
Each singles wrestler or team is allowed only one RP within the last 24 hours of the RP period. This is to prevent deadline bombing at the very end and hopefully encourage back and forth throughout the week.

No-Shows
Wrestlers who no-show without explanation are left off of cards until they contact the booker. Two no-shows in a row and you’re out of NAPW. If you’re having a bad week (LIFE HAPPENS) take 30 seconds to drop the booker a line and let him know what’s up.

Roleplay Judging
Roleplays will be weighted on the values of storytelling, continuity, details, success-in-style (effective drama, comedy, wrestling promo, etc), spelling/grammar, effort (quantity and consistency of RPs). Quality over quantity but work ethic is rewarded. Don’t write novels but give your RPs some ‘meat.’ Keep your material PG-13. Write whatever style you want as long as you do it well.

Respect Your Peers
Do not use any other NAPW wrestlers in your promo without first getting permission from that wrestler’s handler.

Submitting Strats & Angle Ideas
Private Message the booker to give ‘strats’ (specific match strategies), or to submit angle ideas. Please communicate with the booker!

MATCH WRITING

One reason NAPW has been so consistent for over four years is that fed members chip in to help write matches on every show. A request for match writers will be messaged to all NAPW wrestlers several days before a show. You are not required to write a match, nor will writing a match affect any results for your character (i.e. you won’t win because you write , or lose because you don’t).

The amount of match writers and the RP turn-out determine what kind of results go up. If it is a strong RP week and lots of writers volunteer, the results will have full commentary and introductions. If there are not enough writers, or the RP turnout is terrible, the results will be in brief summary form.

RANKINGS & CHAMPIONSHIPS

NAPW has several singles championships and one Tag Team championship. Tag wrestling is important in NAPW — the Tag Titles main event cards and are nearly as prestigious as the NAPW World Title. The World and Tag titles are defended every few weeks. The Heritage about every two weeks. The TV Championship is defended (almost) every single week with a 10 minute TV time limit.

Each title has its own rankings ladder. Wrestlers who RP consistently and work hard will receive title opportunities in NAPW.

In wrestling, “the challenger has to beat the champion… the champion does not have to beat the challenger.” If you want a title, you need to BEAT the champion. Not sort of beat the champion. Not tie with him. If you don’t beat him, he beats you.

MISCELLANEOUS STUFF

*If you are going to be out of town or unable to RP for your match, simply PM the booking team and we will take you off the card and replace you with someone else. Let us know ASAP if you’re going to have problems or ARE having problems RPing.

*Always feel free to submit ideas for your character to the booking team. NAPW is a community, the booker is not the sole creative vision behind your character.

*Want to make changes to your character’s music, moveset, bio, finisher? Use the Private Message function on the boards and PM the booker. However, please keep the changes to a minimum.

*REBEL and NAPW have a working relationship. Many of the wrestlers in REBEL also compete in NAPW – some became names there. Occasionally the other fed’s titles may be defended on the other’s shows. Generally, however, what happens in one fed does not affect storylines and matches in the other (IE, being REBEL World Champion does not give you additional push in NAPW).
